Supporting literacy The UDL Rotary Club joins forces with the Upper Darby School District teachers each autumn and spring by meeting and giving young readers a book bag, a couple of books and a reading buddy (a small stuffed animal) to encourage children to read more. Rotarians join a teacher and visits the children in their home. |
improving the environmentThe UDL Rotary Club and their community partners clean up parks and playgrounds in the area in an effort to have residents enjoy the space and to clean up after themselves. Keep Upper Darby and Lansdowne Beautiful! |

The Interact Club at Upper Darby High School
The Interact club brings together students at Upper Darby High School to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self, through community service projects. |
Supporting World Peace Through Exchange Students Rotary International supports more than 8,000 high school student exchanges each year. For information on being an exchange student or hosting a foreign exchange student, contact Donna Henry. The UDL Rotary Club is hosting Hestia from Taiwan who is spending the 2026-27 school year is here in the United States. The UDL Rotary Club is sponsoring Syron (right), an Upper Darby High School snior who spent 5 months of high school in Brazil The UDL Rotary Club hosted Bia, an exchange student from Brazil. Bia spent her senior year (2022-23) at Penn Wood High School while living with a Rotarian. Bia made new friends with her classmates. Bia liked the living here so much she is now studying at Temple University. |
